I have enjoyed using The Nurts Tales: Growing Strong, Inside and Out in my classroom, particularly during our PSHE lessons. The topics explored throughout the book have provided valuable opportunities for my students to reflect on different issues they may be facing in their own lives. I have found that the stories offer a gentle and accessible way to introduce sensitive topics, encourage meaningful discussions and help students develop a better understanding of themselves and others.
We love all the 5 stort stories in this book! It covers really good and practical topics on emotional regulation, screen time, nutrition, voicing out health concerns and supporting someone living with cancer. I really enjoy the reflection prompts available at the end of every story. It gives me a chance to further discuss the story with my 6 year old son ❤️
We absolutely enjoyed reading this book! It comes with not just one, but five short stories covering different topics. I especially love the reflection prompts, as they give me the opportunity to have meaningful conversations with my daughter after each story. Besides the familiar Nurts characters - Zoey, Mia, Liam, and Noah, this book also introduces Teddy Paws, whom my daughter absolutely loves. 🧸
As a mum, I love finding books that are fun to read while also teaching meaningful life lessons. The stories are easy for little ones to understand and encourage them to imagine, relate, and learn how to handle similar emotions and situations in real life. The illustrations are bright, colourful, and full of expression, which kept my daughter engaged from start to finish.

Honestly, if you want a book to actually read with your kids instead of just reading to them, get this one.
The stories hit so close to home with real, everyday situations that my daughter related to it straight away. We’ve re-read it so many times now, and I’m already seeing a massive difference in how she handles her emotions and reacts to real-life situations. She is way better at managing her day-to-day feelings and is able to understand and react to situations appropriately.
Plus, she is opening up about her thoughts so much more than before. It’s been an absolute game-changer for us as parents because we can finally understand what’s going on in her head and properly guide her.
I also really love the reflection prompts and Teddy Paws' tips at the end of the stories. Instead of just rushing through the pages, those little questions make both us parents and our child stop, think, and reflect together. It has sparked some really great conversations.

We loved the book! All the short stories are so relatable to our children because they are events that will happen. We also love tips from Teddy Paws because it helps us parents and also our children so both has something to gain. The children felt that we are in this together. The reflection prompts section is also a good one because we can be interactive with our children after 1 story and practice their focus and listening skill. All the stories included a doctor’s advice and children tends to take it better when it comes from a doctor’s point of view. I think this collaboration is amazing! But just as the title said Growing strong inside and out, as much as we want our children’s body to be healthy, their feelings and inner voice is equally important. The stories reminded us, it’s okay to have feelings, be it sad or angry and even being sick, it’s important to speak up, to talk to someone about it or ask for help. Love the friendship that was portrayed and kindness that reflected in each stories. This really teaches our children to have empathy too. I really recommend this book to all parents to get it for their children because everything is so applicable in our lives. Big love! Thank you, Nurts for publishing this book!
I truly enjoyed reading this book with my kids. What I love most is how relatable and applicable it is to their everyday lives. The content is age-appropriate, easy for them to understand, and presented in a way that really engages them.
The five short stories are beautifully written, meaningful, and so easy for children to connect with. I especially love how Teddy Paws, in the form of a teddy, adds such a comforting touch to the stories. It gives children a sense of comfort and reassurance, while helping them feel seen and understood when they experience similar situations or emotions in their own lives. It makes the stories feel even more personal and relatable to them.
The story about emotional regulation is especially meaningful to me as a parent. It is something I know I will remind my kids of when they have emotional outbursts, helping them remember the lessons from the story and giving them a simple way to understand and manage their big feelings.
The practical examples and exercises are also such a wonderful addition because they give my kids something they can actually do when they experience similar feelings or situations. This is a lovely book with 5 short stories about emotional regulation; screen time; nutrition; voicing out health concerns; supporting someone living with cancer.
Initially I thought I could read this book with my children in a go but ended up we took a few days to learn each story since my kids asked lots of questions.
“Mummy, how the kids go to the hospital? Who fetch them go?”
“Mummy, how Zoey put her tablet on a high shelf since it’s so high up?”
Both Isaac (6y5m) & Bethany (3y10m) love the story of “Zoey & the Ninja Training Camp”. I felt that each story has many words especially for Bethany but the colourful illustrations definitely is an add on point to help children understand the stories better.
I personally like the Tips from Teddy Paws at the end of each story. It would be better if it is being recapped in short and simple action verbs:
1. When you feel angry ~ Take a slow breaths from your belly, let’s count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5..
2. Screen time ~ Let’s follow the 20-20-20 rule (Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds).
3. Choosing healthy food ~ Let’s build My Healthy Plate (Quarter Quarter Half)
4. Speak up ~ “I feel… in my… when I…”
5. When someone in the family is ill ~ Be kind and show love. You can make a card; you can sing a song.
I would suggest a vocabulary section where it explains some words that are slightly difficult for kids such as moat, ultra-processed food, hoarse, wobbled.
My children will definitely read this book over and over again. Thank you The Nurts.
It's a book that helps parents to discuss the topic and reflect the emotions that we seldom talk about with our children. For example why shall we cut down screentime, how to express it when they experiencing body discomfort... Through stories it makes children easier to understand. We enjoy reading the stories and discuss the topic together!
The short stories are what I am looking for in a book as the attention spent is very short in my child.
I am also teaching him on emotions so it’s an excellent book to read to him.

I’d just like to share some feedback regarding the packaging. The box used was quite large for such a small package, and I feel the packaging could perhaps be improved with sustainability in mind.
Additionally, it would be great if the number of cards included could be slightly increased to better reflect the value.

Tried Heart to Heart for the first time this week, and I’m honestly impressed. The prompts are simple but so thoughtfully crafted. They pull out stories, imagination, and real connection without feeling forced. It’s such a refreshing product, and the best part is it removes all the usual card-game complexities, so you can focus on the conversation.

This is a gem. I was looking for books which teach good values to children and this came along. Thanks to the Nurts team for giving us a chance to review this book. My sons love the song Zoey's Problem Solving Machine. It helps them speak out about what they like about each story and the reflection points help them express themselves better. As a parent, I personally like the Friendship Bench story the most as it relates to the sense of belonging that every kid needs to have when in a group and how to approach each other with empathy. It sparks an idea of having a friendship bench which I did not think of. In brief, this is a must have as it opens not only your brain but heart in doing things differently but in a right manner. I really enjoyed this book! It's a collection of 8 short, fun, and meaningful stories featuring four lovely main characters. Each story is easy to follow, relatable for kids, and comes with a clear moral—which I really appreciate as a parent.
One of my personal favorites was Noah’s Friendship Bench—such a touching and powerful message that I wish could be adopted in real life. My son absolutely loved Liam & the Rainy Day Match (no surprise, he’s obsessed with football!).
I also liked how there were bold, colorful phrases that helped me read with more expression—it kept my son’s attention too! The reflection prompts at the end of each story are a great touch (though my son usually asks to skip them 😄).
The illustrations are fewer than we’re used to, but the expressions are fun and engaging. It actually helped my son focus more on listening to the story than just looking at the pictures, which was a nice change.
Overall, the book has such a positive vibe. Even in tough situations, each character finds a creative, thoughtful way to solve their problems.

I'd recommend it for kids around 4 and up—might be a bit wordy for the really little ones, but the stories are so worth it.
