Why We’re Bringing The Nurts Day to 2 Cities This Year

By Rachel, Founder of The Nurts

Last year at The Nurts Day, we met families who travelled from near and far just to spend a few hours with us—some even driving from Penang and Singapore. It meant so much to see families making that effort, and after every event we kept hearing the same question: “When will you be doing one in my area?” and “Can you come closer to us next time?” That really stayed with me. Because what we’re building through The Nurts has never felt like just an event. It has always been about creating a space where families can slow down, connect, and simply enjoy being present with one another.

Over the past year, I’ve been thinking a lot about what children actually remember as they grow up. I don’t think it’s always the big celebrations or expensive things. More often, it’s the smaller moments—running around, helping with everyday errands, sitting close to us, or simply being together in the same space.

The Moments that Stay with Our Kids

Recently when I wasn’t feeling well, my own children reminded me of that. They didn’t need anything elaborate—they just wanted to stay near me. And I realised how meaningful that closeness can feel. At our Nurts events, I often notice those same little moments between parents and children: baking together, trying activities side by side, laughing through something simple. Those are the moments that stay with them.

One thing I also notice at The Nurts Day is how different families feel in a space like this. Parents feel more present. There’s less rushing, less distraction, and more room to just enjoy each other. The shy kids begin opening up, children start making friends, and even parents end up connecting while waiting for the next activity. It always reminds me that maybe families don’t need more things—maybe we simply need more spaces like this. Safe, meaningful spaces where we can pause, reconnect, and create memories together.

That’s one of the biggest reasons we’re bringing The Nurts Day to 2 cities this year. We wanted to bring this experience closer to more families and create more opportunities to gather as a community. This year, we’re so excited to welcome families in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, and we truly can’t wait to see you there!
