On the bright, early Thursday morning, Wonders of the Wild leapt off the cards and into real life as 16 adventurous families joined The Nurts on a special tour of Sunway Theme Park’s Wildlife Zoo!
This wasn’t just any zoo visit—it was a curated experience that brought the Wonders of the Wild values card game to life. From the moment families stepped in, they were greeted by animals that inspired the creatures featured in the game, creating a hands-on, eyes-wide-open encounter with the wild.
Exploring the Creatures Behind the Cards
Together with Ranger Tim and the Sunway Wildlife Park team, we led families through a guided tour of selected animal exhibits. Each stop highlighted the real-life behaviours, habitats, and quirks of the animals represented in Wonders of the Wild. Kids (and parents!) got to meet various animals from sunbears to leopards, and more—learning how their real-world traits connect to the values in the game. Ranger Tim's enthusiasm made the experience even more engaging for everyone!
From the Zoo to the Game Table
After the tour, the wild fun continued at Lasso, where the group gathered for a lively Wonders of the Wild card game session. With animals fresh in their minds and values at their fingertips, families dove into gameplay with a whole new perspective.
Some kids strategised based on what they’d just learned. Others shared how their favourite animal cards reminded them of what they saw. The energy was electric, the conversations meaningful, and the laughter nonstop.
Why This Matters
Wonders of the Wild was crafted to make learning values engaging and practical. By combining gameplay with real-world experiences at Sunway’s Wildlife Park, children connected emotions, knowledge, and action in a single day. They practised empathy and responsibility, seeing the consequences of their choices both in the real world and the game. It’s one thing to talk about values. It’s another thing to see them in action, and then play with them in a way that sticks.
Guided by Dr. Pakee, Wildlife Director at Sunway Theme Parks, this card game collaboration allowed players to meet the animals featured in the game, reinforcing the link between play and reality. This collaboration demonstrated how educational brands and experiential destinations can inspire a commitment to wildlife care and ecological responsibility.
This event and partnership reminded us why we do what we do: to nurture confidence, curiosity, and care in kids and families, one joyful experience at a time.
